Application:

Material & Coating:

Carbide - These are very harder as compared to steel of high-speed type. So, they are long lasting and less prone to wear. The life of cutter is increased with a number of coatings.

Ceramic - Cutting tools are also made using different grades of ceramic. These have good resistance to wear and abrasion, good rate of non-conductivity and excellent thermal features.

Cermet - This is the composite of ceramic-metal, wherein metal is bonded with ceramic powder. It has appreciable thermal properties that disallows bonding of chips to the insert surface.

Cobalt - These are harder in comparison to high-speed steel. These cobalt steel tools are used to mill SS and alloys.

Cubic Boron Nitride (CBN) - Having excellent abrasion resistance, this synthetic abrasive is used in grinding wheels. Its other use include - as a tool material.

Diamond / PCD - Polycrystalline diamond (PCD) is one industrial diamond grades that is used for applications involving extremely high-speed cutting.

High Speed Steel - Cost effective and used for metal machining along with other standard applications

Micrograin Carbide - It's grain size is small and hence fine edge grinding is possible. It is used to finish cutting.

Silicon Nitride - Outstanding shock resistance, excellent thermal properties, it finds used in roughing operations, interrupted cutting, scale removal, and other.
