Tungsten is present in large amount in high carbon tool steel or HSS.
Standard HSS composition: 0.7% Carbon; 01% Vanadium; 04% Chromium; 18% tungsten and Remaining is Iron.
Harness Value: 62-64 Rc.
5 to 8% Cobalt + HSS results in increased resistance to wear. Also, its strength is boosted.
